Now that we are officially “moved in” (or at least all of our stuff is at the new address…) Marianne and I wanted to take a minute and thank you, and everyone at Birkey Homes, for a terrific building experience. This past weekend was our first in the new house and we absolutely love it.
As you know, deciding to build a new house was not a decision we took lightly. And when we finally decided to build, finding a builder to put our trust in was critical to us. The quality of a Birkey home goes without saying. But beyond that, we were looking for that “right someone” who could guide us through the home building process. We started out very slowly, and we really appreciated the patience you demonstrated as we made up our minds to proceed with the house. You earned our trust, not only as a builder, but as a friend.
Throughout the process, your actions assured us, over and over again, that we had made the right choice. In a project like this, there are always going to be some bumps in the road. But we always knew that we could call you, anytime, and you were there for us. Thanks to your great work, there were only a few of those “bumps”. But you always made sure they were small (at least from our perspective), that the outcomes were fair, and that every issue was dealt with to our satisfaction. Your ultimate concern was always that we were happy.
Ken, please pass our appreciation on to Wayne, Doug and everyone else at Birkey, for a job very well done.

As a result of our experience over the past six months, we feel compelled to write this unsolicited letter of recommendation. After meeting with several builders early in the year we were anxiety-filled over the prospect of becoming involved in the homebuilding saga that many of us have heard stories about. We wondered whether there was something inherent in home building that made it often result in disappointment or frustration.
We ultimately picked Birkey Homes to build our home because we felt like Doug Birkey is someone we could work comfortably with. Our “gut” feeling was spot on! The sub¬contractors were all professional, courteous, and wonderful to work with. We researched many home designs and toured many homes to “interview builders” in the area for over 2 years to see who would make the cut to build our home. The home is certainly all that we had hoped it would be and more. The quality workmanship is commendable in every area. The framers, plumbers, electricians, painters, cabinet makers, floor and carpet installers, concrete pourers, the trimmer, landscapers, sound company, blind company and every person we may have forgot through the process treated us so well, and we wish that we could thank everyone personally for the wonderful job they did for us.
We hesitate to mention people specifically because we do not want to leave anyone out, but there are a number of individuals that really stand out.
